Are you where you want to be at this point in your life? Have you achieved, or are you on course to achieving, what you thought you should have done by now? Are you enjoying your present pursuits the way you have always dreamed of? Do you want a career or business that is more fulfilling?
If you are one of those who find themselves asking these kinds of questions, you have company. Many of us ask these questions at some points in our lives. The trouble is not in asking them, it is in failing to answer them.
The answers lie in what you spend your working day doing, whether they are things you love or what you dread. If you are one of those in the minority who are doing what they love and what they are good at, then you have found your passion. Being able to figure this out is no small feat. Yet, the secret sauce for creating your own success is being able to figure out what you enjoy doing so much that the hours pass without you realising it. Once you find this, you have found your passion.
Until you find your passion, you will be bogged down by doing what you don’t like. You will be miserable. You will also make the lives of everyone around you to be unpleasant.
How do you find your passion? Your search must begin with a deep reflection on two areas of your endeavours: What you love to do and what comes easily to you. You must discover the things you love to do and the things that come easy to you before you can be the best person you can be.Once you decide where you want to go, which will clarify your vision, follow through with goal setting and actions that move you in your chosen direction. With this clarity, you must get down to work, and pursue your passion by practising and developing the talents that support your efforts. It is then that you will stop struggling and suffering, and start surviving and thriving.
Whether you realise it or not, you are gifted with unique talents and interests that point you to what you are supposed to be doing in life. Your job is to find and follow your passion, and organise your life around it, so that the work you long to do will be an expression of your passion.
