The Director General of Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), Dr. Dikko Umaru Radda has recommended the establishment of a development bank for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs)
This recommendation was made during the celebration of the 2019 World MSMEs Day in Birnin-Kebbi
According to Radda, the development bank would address the issue of inadequate funds in the country.
Radda, who was represented by Kebbi State Manager of the Agency, Mr. Abdulkarim Ibrahim said ”As part of her advocacy mandate, the agency is emphasizing the need for this establishment to address the fundamental funding challenge confronting MSMEs in Nigeria.
“A typical MSMEs Development Bank is a robust and one-stop development financial institution mandated to nurture and meet the funding and business growth needs of MSMEs.” He added.
