The Beekeepers Association of Dogon Daji-Kagarko of Kaduna State has launched a modern honey processing facility project under the “One Local Government One Product” (OLOP) programme which commenced in 2016. The project was commissioned by the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN).
“One Local Government One Product” programme is organised by SMEDAN to promote the development of at least one identified product per local government in Nigeria, thereby supporting viable cooperative societies and improving productivity and economic growth. The agency plans to implement the programme in 109 senatorial districts nationwide.
The decision is based on the successful implementation of the first phase which started in Katsina, Anambra, Osun, Abuja and now Kaduna.  The Director of Planning, Olawale Fusanya, representing  the Director General of SMEDAN, Dr. Dikko Radda, said the project covers acquiring honey processing machines, workspace upgrade, working capital, capacity building and business development services.
